Miami fire fighter robbed and shot at.

Yesterday I read in the Miami Herald  how a Miami firefighter was robbed at 15 Ave nw 46 St for his gold chain, while in uniform just outside the fire house. What you may not know is, just last week interm  Miami Police Chief Orosa decided to cut down undercover units who work directly in these high crime areas. To be specific The Tactical Robbery Unit "TRU". Through public records requests I found out this 18 man unit targets robberies in high crime areas. It proactivily patrols while responding only to violent crimes as soon as they happen. This unit being part of Chief Exposito's TOS (hated by the Mayors new do boy Orosa) section has been hacked down to 8 officers and 2 Sergeants. I spoke with an officer from the Miami Police Department and she believes the new interm Chief Orosa is hell bent on undoing everything that previous Chief Exposito has done in the past. It should be noted the "TRU" unit has been responsible for a reduction in robberies not seen in 40 years! Three weeks ago the "TRU" unit excepted a Unit Citation award for the month of June for making over 200 felony arrests to include the arrests of 4 bank robbers. If we back track to the removal of Chief Exposito you'll remember the charges of demoting 2 Commanders after the City Manager told the Chief to wait. The Chief argued he had reassigned them and not demoted anyone. The Commission however sided with the Manager and fired the Chief. Now, when asked what interm Chief Orosa planned to do once he took over, he made it clear he would be rid of TOS once he took power. Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones and the City Manager both stated "LEAVE THE DEPARTMENT STATUS QUO" and not to make any changes until the perminant chief took over. Can someone please tell me how you can fire one chief and not the other if he did exactly what the other did wrong? Ladies and gentelmen this is the BANANA REPUBLIC! The interm Chief sent over 35 undercover officers back to patrol at a moments notice, changing their days off and hours, cars, uniforms and basically put their lives upside down. Where is the honest Michelle Spence-jones now??? Where is the City Manager now??? I guess we'll see what happens when these hard working officers are back in patrol writing reports well after the crime has happened. If you ask me, violent crime is going to skyrocket making the City of Miami even more dangerous but hey, atleast the corrupt politicians can enjoy their $150,000 police Sgt at arms babysitters. The corruption continues............
